FACCG Visit - 30th May 2010

A group of 19 volunteers from FACCG visited the reserve on Sunday 30th May 2010 to carry out a few items of maintenance including installing an interpretation shelter, fixing a bridge and starting to install a sluice gate where water can be diverted to the pond or to the river.

Why have we been so quiet?

Over the last year, the Project Woodland website has not been updated as frequently as we would have liked after it became necessary to meet with the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Planning Authority to discuss the planning issues that they had regarding the reserve, therefore projects and in turn, website updates were put on hold during this time. - More...

A small group of volunteers visited the reserve on 27th September 2009. This visit was not in the 2009 programme and was organised at short notice, however the weather was tremendous with blue skies and sunshine all day.

Following the successful poll on this website and the subsequent decision by the group to situate a wildlife pond on the reserve, we have now received approval from SEPA and the groundwork has now been completed.

Green Timber Bird Hide Frame Assembled

Various members of the group visited the reserve over the weekend of 25th to 27th May 2007; some staying all weekend and some just for a day, however it was enough to finish the assembly of the bird hide frame.

Green Timber Bird Hide

The group has been involved with the `Green Timber Bird Hide` project lead by Simon Lockwood from Scottish Native Woods and all of our members will benefit from it as the hide is to be located on our very own reserve at Glen Dochart.
